Genesus is pleased to announce the delivery of 900 head of breeding pigs to Taiyu (Tycoon) Breeding Pig Company in China. A 747 charter plane delivered the pigs on December 9, 2020, from Genesus nucleus farms in the UK. Genesus Managing Director Europe, Helena Echberg was responsible for coordinating the export with Simon Oxby, Technical Support, supervising the quarantine and selection in the UK.

Gu Yaping (above left) Genesus GM China met the plane with Mr. Zhu CEO (right) of the Swine Division for Tycoon to supervise the unloading of the pigs and transportation to the quarantine farm. The pigs were reported to be active and well upon their arrival.

Tycoon Group is a leading agricultural company in its region of China with major business in vegetable protein, feed milling, breeding birds and pig production with more than 30 branches in China. Tycoon previously had 1000 GGP sows, 5000 GP sows and 10,000 commercial sows prior to construction of the new genetic nucleus farm for the Genesus Brand pig production.

Previously, Genesus entered into agreements with Tycoon to supervise the Genetic program and for Tycoon to market Genesus Brand breeding pigs to the local market. Genesus strategy, according to Lyle Jones Director of Sales China, is for a Genesus Super Nucleus in each major region to make Genesus Brand breeding pigs more available to the breeding farms of China.
